DVE Studios, the production company behind the new hit independent outdoor travel series AWOL - Air Water Or Land, is seeking highly motivated, experienced, collaborative creatives to join our on team. All crew positions with AWOL are non-union contractor positions. See below for current openings, compensations will be discussed at time of any formal offers.

* Filming travel/reality programing is rewarding, yet extremely demanding work. Work days can range from 10 - 14 hours each with no days off working in sometimes, the most extreme of elements in the outdoors, all day long. Shoots, including travel to and from, can range between 6 - 10 days long. The locations we shoot in require a significant amount of physical exertion while at times, hauling equipment on your person without assistances. All while executing your primary job and any other job needed to produce our series and content for clients without compromising standards and workmanship. Crew members need not be fitness junkies, but should already be reasonbly active individual capable of walking 3 - 6+ miles a day in various conditions and terrain without fear of fatigue or injury all while performing their role for the series.

Camera Operator - Director of Photography

We’re seeking a hard working visionary to join our roster of highly talented camera operators. AWOL is a single camera operator - unscripted reality travel series therefor, camera operators act as videographer, field director, director of photographer, second unit, and must be able to balance capturing a dynamic range of footage to create both the captive story driven narrative and cinematic visuals AWOL is known for. AWOL camera operators must be fully capable to operate independently without the assistance of a PA. AWOL is filmed on Sony super-35 cinema cameras with additional systems, so camera operators must be willing to become familiar with studio equipment and studio set filming standards for TV.


  • Background in documentary and/or photojournalism is prefered

  • Must have a valid passport and driver’s license

  • Experience with commercial video work with client referrals required.

Required Sample Work
Please provide self produced work, ie. video projects that was non-collaborative or worked on as support crew. If video sample was produced as apart of a crew/team assignment, please provide a detailed description of your level of involved and what work was performed by you in the final edit for those samples. Please, do not submit wedding/event footage or trendy YouTube style videos (ie, Neistat,Mckinnon, etc.) as it does not allow us to evaluate the kind of work that meets AWOL’s creative style or needs adequately.

Field Producer

We’re seeking a hard working, creative, organized team leader to join our roster of highly talented on-location film crew. AWOL’s field producer acts as production manager, PA, production photographer, and sometimes will assist both talent and camera operator. Duties can range from helping drive between locations, contacting and coordinating with local on camera guests, outfitters, guides and other local support, insuring key visual elements are not overlooked, keeping the crew on schedule, and many other tasks that arise. The Field Producer is an intrical part of our on-location crew to maintain efficiently and assistant with anything that may arise while filming.


  • Background in documentary and/or photojournalism is prefered

  • Must have a valid passport and driver’s license

  • Experience with commercial video work, video or film production, event production is prefered

  • Must have photography experience (please provide samples or a link to a gallery)

  • Some video experience is required (please provide video samples for any video work and description of your role in the file edit)

  • Must provide a creative resume with professional referrals

  • Any relevant work samples or credit lists should be submitted
